Our A Level students, working with the John Clare Countryside Partnership and the IEG Estates team, have completed a number of biodiversity projects:
Planted native plants and wildflowers near the Stamford reception
Built two large bug houses adjacent to the A level block and car park
Purchased ‘bee bombs’ to seed the grassed area near the Stamford Bistro
Planted wildflowers and ivy behind the Art Block
Produced publicity to encourage young people to improve biodiversity and reduce their carbon footprints
Worked on habitat clearance for 2 days at Swaddywell Pit
Made bird feeders and hung them in trees around the campus
Presented their findings and developed personal and business skills.
