A LEVEL STUDENTS COMPLETE THEIR BIODIVERSITY PROJECTS

Biodiversity

Our A Level students, working with the John Clare Countryside Partnership and the IEG Estates team, have completed a number of biodiversity projects:

  • Planted native plants and wildflowers near the Stamford reception

  • Built two large bug houses adjacent to the A level block and car park

  • Purchased ‘bee bombs’ to seed the grassed area near the Stamford Bistro

  • Planted wildflowers and ivy behind the Art Block

  • Produced publicity to encourage young people to improve biodiversity and reduce their carbon footprints

  • Worked on habitat clearance for 2 days at Swaddywell Pit

  • Made bird feeders and hung them in trees around the campus

  • Presented their findings and developed personal and business skills.
