Eco-Schools Green Flag awarded ‘with merit’

IEG has been awarded the ‘Eco-Schools Green Flag’ with Merit, in recognition of our work on the green agenda this year. The Eco-Schools panel praised our Green Plan and the proactive and highly professional approach to the green agenda, as well as our excellent work on communications, including the new IEG green website. The panel were “really impressed at how sustainability and climate change are layered across the curriculum” and said our application reflected a “terrific year’s work” on the whole sustainability agenda.

Chris Bryant, Green Ambassador of the Green Group/Inspiring Sustainability, said

“On a personal level I have been able to take what I have learnt from the process into my own delivery within education through the FMP (final major project) on my level 1 creative media course. Now we have the recognition and status of the Eco Schools badge I will continue to embed sustainability and green, plant based options and how they can improve both the environment and health of those who participate.”
