Air and Defence Matriculation

Inspire Education Group Air and Defence students from Peterborough College and Stamford College, were welcomed at a formal matriculation ceremony at the reputable International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln.

Since Air and Defence College launched six years ago, over 600 students have graduated from the host colleges and benefitted from the unique career development opportunities made available by the unique employer-led approach programme. The college has resulted in students taking places on RAF Basic Recruit Training, progression into apprenticeships, employment and further study for a career in the aerospace industry.

The career opportunities for those who study this pathway are significant, former student Bradley Parker, now employed in the RAF as a cyberspace communication specialist, said, “Making your way up the ranks can be extremely difficult if you don’t know how to get there,” Bradley concludes, “but the college provided me with extensive background knowledge, important points of contact and the qualifications I needed to achieve my career goals which is something I’m extremely grateful for.”

Peterborough College’s RAF Air and Defence College provides employer-led, career-focused education and technical training for 16 to 19-year-olds. Our employer supporters will work closely with us to provide this unique and innovative model, which is designed to create secure career paths in the RAF, Aerospace and Catering Industries.
