Inspire Education Group (IEG), comprising of Stamford College, Peterborough College and University Centre Peterborough, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Pennell as the new Chair of the Corporation Board, and Angie Morris, who will serve as the Vice Chair of the further and higher education provider.

Prior to the formation of Inspire Education Group, David served as the Chair of Finance and Resources at New College Stamford College (now Stamford College). Post-merger, he assumed the role of Chair of the Finance and Resource Committee, and has since served on the Corporation Board for three years. A qualified Chartered Surveyor, specialising in strategic land and business management for estates, David brings a wealth of experience to his new role. David is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Burghley House Preservation Trust Ltd; the charitable entity that owns and operates Burghley House, the Estate and its associated business activities and events. With Burghley being a significant sized property owner, David has worked in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including local district councils, parish councils and community groups, and thus is exceptionally equipped to provide valuable support to the Group’s upcoming endeavours, notably the development of the Centre for Green Technology on the Peterborough campus.

Joining David Pennell as the Vice Chair of the Corporation Board is Angie Morris, an accomplished professional that currently holds a number of Board and Committee roles ranging across a wide span of the public sector. Prior to the formation of Inspire Education Group, Angie was a member of the Peterborough Regional College Board (now Peterborough College), and upon the merger, chaired the Curriculum and Quality Committee. In addition to her three years of service on the IEG Corporation Board, Angie boasts an extensive career in the NHS and Social Care, and since 2010, has run a successful Health Care Consultancy. Angie’s rich experience in identifying organisational challenges and opportunities positions her perfectly to drive growth and innovation within Inspire Education Group.

Rachel Nicholls, Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Education Group, shared, “We are delighted to welcome David Pennell as the new Chair and Angie Morris as the Vice Chair of Inspire Education Group’s Corporation Board. With David’s extensive experience in strategic planning and Angie’s in driving transformative change, we are poised to continue enriching communities and transforming lives through inspirational education and training as we look to further grow and innovate”.

A warm welcome to David and Angie.
