GCSE Results Day 2024: Inspire Education Group Outperforms National Benchmarks in English and Maths

Students at Stamford College and Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results in English and Maths. The hard work and determination of hundreds of students across both campuses have paid off, with many achieving the grades they need to take their next steps in education or their careers.

Charlotte Muller, a current Applied Science student at college, successfully passed her GCSE English, positioning herself well to pursue her ambition of working in the public sector. “I’m thrilled with what I’ve achieved! Whether I become a lawyer, join the police force, or explore forensics, I’m excited about the future!”

“I’m overjoyed, I don’t know what to say!” shared Vanessa Brinn. Returning to education to enhance her job prospects, Vanessa was emotional as she received her results, expressing deep gratitude to her lecturer for helping her settle in and reach her full potential. She is now eager to explore new career opportunities.

Tosan Kincaid successfully passed his GCSE English while completing a Computing course at college. Now aiming to enter the workforce, he credits the English team for playing a significant role in his success.

In the 2023/24 academic year, 30.3% of learners at IEG achieved a Grade 4 or higher, significantly surpassing the national average in England, which stood at 20.9%. This achievement is even more impressive when considering only Further Education (FE) establishments, where the national figure drops to 17.9%. The high performance of IEG students is particularly notable given the demographics of Peterborough, highlighting the exceptional outcomes of these learners. Overall, 275 students at IEG secured high grades, an increase of 65 from the previous year, excluding those who joined classes mid-year after being classified as 'exempt.'

In terms of achievement, IEG is poised to report a remarkable 98.5% success rate for GCSE English across all aspects of its provision, including Peterborough, Stamford, and part-time courses. This represents a consistent improvement over previous years, with the achievement rate rising from 97% in 2022/23 and 96% in 2021/22. These improvements have previously placed IEG among the top FE colleges in England, ranking 6th and 5th respectively in those years. With continued progress, IEG is well-positioned to maintain or improve its standing in the upcoming NARTS rankings, which will also include results for GCSE Maths.

In 2023, IEG celebrated the release of the latest National Achievement Rates Tables (NARTs), which ranked the Group in the top 3% of General Further Education (GFE) Colleges (5th out of 168 colleges) nationally for GCSE English and Maths results. Additionally, IEG was placed in the top 20% of GFE Colleges nationally for overall achievement rates of 16 to 18-year-olds (28th out of 160 colleges).

Inspire Education Group congratulates all GCSE students on their fantastic achievements and wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
