Inspire Education Group (IEG) is proud to celebrate #CollegesWeek2025, championing the transformative role of further education in driving economic growth, supporting communities, and developing essential skills for the future. Aligning with the Association of Colleges' five-mission framework, IEG is making a tangible impact across key areas.
Kickstarting Economic Growth
Recently, IEG was honoured to host the Secretary of State for Education at our Peterborough campus for the launch of the Get Britain Working White Paper, demonstrating our commitment to equipping learners with the skills needed to power local and national economies.
“Peterborough is a hotspot for youth unemployment with 1,350 young people claiming Universal Credit, most of those will be unemployed and we want to make sure we tackle that and give those young people the skills they need to get well-paid jobs of the future. The College is working hard here… and we want to make sure there is more local control because we think local people know best about what people in Peterborough need. It is giving young people a real start in life with proper skills and proper job prospects for the future and we want to see much more of this.” - Liz Kendall, Secretary of State (Speaking to Peterborough Telegraph in Nov 2024)

Becoming a Clean Energy Superpower
The upcoming launch of IEG’s Centre for Green Technology (CGT) at Peterborough College represents a major step in training students for careers in renewable energy and sustainability, supporting the UK’s net-zero ambitions.
In celebration of Colleges Week, we're proud to highlight our recent collaboration with Cambridgeshire Constabulary. Together, we’ve rebranded the “Clear, Hold, Build” initiative to “Alliance”, with a stunning logo designed by Max Pogson, a talented second-year Graphic Design student at Peterborough College.

Breaking Down Barriers to Opportunity
With over 1,200 ESOL enrolments, Peterborough College is the largest ESOL provider in the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) area.
By partnering with local employers like Bakkavor, URBN, and GXO, we deliver ESOL training directly in workplaces, ensuring employees gain essential English skills while meeting business upskilling needs.
Peterborough College achieved Commended status for The Bell Foundation Award for Excellence in ESOL at the AoC Beacon Awards 2024/25.
Building an NHS Fit for the Future
IEG plays a vital role in training the future healthcare workforce through:
T Levels in Nursing and Mental Health
Health and Social Care Diplomas
Counselling courses at University Centre Peterborough
A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Stamford College – key stepping stones to medical careers.
T Level Health students celebrated successful placements at Peterborough City Hospital, with student, Bella Gillick, sharing her thoughts:
“Practising at Peterborough City Hospital gave me a real insight into what the working world is like. I specialised in medicine for the elderly, witnessing observations, emergency bells and board meetings. It’s given me such a wide scope of knowledge, opening up lots of career pathways”.
Colleges Week 2025 is a celebration of the vital role further education plays in shaping industries, empowering communities, and creating opportunities for all. At IEG, we remain committed to equipping our students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive.
