IEG Celebrate Significant Growth in Student Enrolments for 2024/25 Academic Year

Inspire Education Group (IEG), comprising of Stamford College, Peterborough College and University Centre Peterborough, is celebrating a record-breaking year, with over 5700 full-time 16-to-19-year-olds having chosen to take the next steps in their educational journey with Stamford and Peterborough Colleges. As IEG’s popularity continues to soar, an additional 306 young people have chosen Inspire Education Group, compared to September 2023’s enrolment period.

This growth is not only testament to the quality of education and training available, but also to the wide-ranging course offering across the Group. From Diplomas, A Levels, T Levels, and apprenticeships, to specific courses that enable adults to retrain, as well as higher level qualifications such as degrees, students, parents and employers have a huge choice of options.

Students and parents recognise the Group’s commitment to deliver high-quality teaching. The Colleges’ phenomenal results ranked Inspire Education Group in the top 3% of General Further Education (GFE) Colleges (5th out of 168 colleges) nationally for GCSE English and Maths results, and in the top 20% of GFE Colleges nationally for overall achievement rates of 16 to 18-year-olds in 2021/2022 (28th out of 160 colleges).

Coupled with its investment in facilities, such as the highly anticipated Centre for Green Technology (CGT), over recent years, Inspire Education Group has gained a reputation as one of the best providers in the region, with some students travelling up to 30 miles each day to secure their place at the prestigious institution.

The CGT project has been partly funded by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA), providing £2.471 million via the Transforming Cities Fund and £400,000 from the Local Growth Fund, further to the £1.9 million package from Peterborough City Council via the Towns Fund.

IEG is also celebrating the success of its higher education provision, University Centre Peterborough, having recently been recognised amongst the UK’s top universities with Silver status accreditation by the Teaching and Excellence Framework (TEF). This is a testament to the high quality of teaching and student experience offered at UCP, where over 83% of students achieved a 2:1 degree classification or above in 2024.

Rachel Nicholls, Principal and Chief Executive Officer of IEG, shared, “We are delighted to see so many new and returning students join us for another exciting year at Inspire Education Group. Our investment continues to support our increasing commitment to deliver real skills and career-focused education to all of our students. It’s a great time to be a student at IEG”.
