IEG and Rolec Partnership to Drive Local Skills Development in Electric Vehicle Sector

In a notable move to support the electric vehicle charging industry, Inspire Education Group (IEG) and ROLEC will partner to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the EV sector by combining IEG's educational expertise with ROLEC's cutting-edge technology. As part of their collaboration, IEG and ROLEC will focus on curriculum development, hands-on training, and industry placements for students. This initiative aims to provide students with real-world experience and practical skills that are directly applicable to the EV charging industry.

Gary McPartland, Assistant Principal at IEG, shared his excitement about the partnership. "Our visit to ROLEC has been incredibly insightful. We are committed to equipping our students with the necessary skills to thrive in the green technology sector. By working closely with industry leaders like ROLEC, we can ensure that our curriculum is aligned with the latest technological advancements and industry needs."

Allan Ross, Contractor Relations and Training Manager at ROLEC, agreed. "We are thrilled to collaborate with Inspire Education Group. The demand for EV charging units is growing exponentially, and it is crucial that we have a well-trained workforce to support this growth. By partnering with IEG, we can help cultivate the next generation of skilled technicians and engineers who will drive the future of sustainable transportation."

The visit also included a tour of ROLEC's custom-built manufacturing facilities, where IEG representatives observed the latest advancements in EV charging technology. This firsthand experience provided valuable insights into the operational aspects of EV charger production and the innovative solutions ROLEC is developing.

Looking forward, both IEG and ROLEC are optimistic about their collaboration. A key highlight will be a visit to the new Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College, which is set to open at the end of the year. The Centre aims to be a hub for green innovation and education, offering students cutting-edge resources and facilities to explore renewable energy and sustainable technologies.

"The Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College represents a significant investment in our commitment to sustainability and green education," said Gary. "We are excited to welcome ROLEC to collaborate with us in this state-of-the-art facility, fostering an environment where students can develop the skills needed to support a sustainable future."
